So I just moved in with my girlfriend and she has an 02 grand prix. She knows nothing about cars so there were a bunch of things I needed to get to work on when I got here.
The first was the ignition problem where the key wouldn't come out, but I found the solenoid and fixed that.
The next major issue is the windshield wipers. They simply don't work. I checked the fuse under the dash, and it's fine, then I checked the fuse box under the hood and didn't see an alternate one for the wipers. So since the fuse is fine, I'm guessing the motor is just dead? Has anyone else had this problem? I noticed people had problems with the wipers not going all the way down, but these just don't work.
They next problem is the car didn't come with the owners manual, so I can't look up little things. I noticed she barely had any oil in the car, so my question is how much oil does each hole represent. Usually it's 1 quart from the bottom so each hole is 1/4 quart, is that correct?
Also the rear windows won't stay up. I'm pretty sure they work but when you go out in the morning they are down from 1/4 of an inch sometimes to about 3 inches. I'm guessing they are just off the track or something and could fix by taking off the door panels and checking it out, but I wanted to check to see if anyone else had encountered this problem and knows the solution right away.
And finally the last issue that I can think of is the air/vents. The temperature works fine but barely any air comes out. Even when you crank it up all the way, it makes noise like it's working harder but there is no difference in the amount of air that comes out. Is there a filter I need to replace, or possibly a dead body crammed in there?
