    Hey everyone,

I have a 2004 Grand Prix GTP and I haven't been able to find anyone else post about this exact problem. I also wasn't quite sure where to post this on this site so if this isn't the correct forum I apologize.

Basically I have water leaking, the strange part is that all four floor boards are soaking wet, not just the passenger side front, or just the driver side front or anything. It's all four of them. Seems to be a weather source issue, not the A/C compressor or anything like that. Last night I shop vac'd it (the shop vac was a good 2.5" full of water afterwards) and it stormed awhile after and this morning it had a small amount of water again... I'm leaning towards it being plugged sunroof drains as that's the only thing that makes any sense, but I have no idea how to check it and it's amazing how much places want to charge just to check if that's the problem...

Can anyone give me any pointers on how to test this myself? And if it is the problem how can I repair it? Or better yet if anyone else has had or seen this same thing please let me know what was wrong and how you fixed it!

I really don't want the car to mold up (if it's not already) and spend the rest of it's days smelling like an abandoned attic...

    Thanks!

Could also be a leak behind the wiper cowl. Where your cabin air filter is located you will see a piece that is there to channel water out of the filter. It is pretty common for this part to come dislodged and be the cause of a leak. I have had this happen a couple times over the years.

plugged sunroof drains are VERY common on these. This thread has quite a few possibilities, take your pick http://www.grandprixforums.net/f81/d...ner-25606.html

Thanks for the quick replies! I actually fixed this today by pulling off the plastic panel and pulling up the carpet on the front passenger side foot well. There was a tiny opening where you could barely fit your hand in to the frame and this is where my drain tube was flowing to. But the compartment was completely blocked off by that rubbery audio foam they use to reduce the engine noise. Painstakingly (literally, the edges around that little opening were sharp, have tons of cuts all over my hand. Thank god for tetnis shots haha) remove the foam and, bingo!, the water can flow out through the well now. Funny that since 2004 when the vehicle was first purchased none of the owners ever bothered to get this fixed... oh well, done now!

I do have a question, and I have seen this asked on other websites but no one has really posted an answer to it... Did Pontiac somehow do something to prevent molding in these cars? I have no mold under the carpet and that amazes me since this would have been a persisting problem years before I bought the vehicle!
