okay, my 97 3800-v6 has no power steering.. Been like that when i bought the car. Was putting power steering fluid in it about every 2 weeks, but that got worse as it was then every week, and i just gave up doing that. Now each time i put in the ps fluid, the pump still works. Had a Auto Shop check it out, guy said was a hose needing clamped and the Rack & pinion needed fixed (or resealed). Now i love to work on my own cars, but where i live now, thats a big No, and they like to tow cars...

So would resealing the R&P work and reclamping the hose work? or is it best to buy new or used with these cars? Yea first Grand Prix. More used to firebirds

okay, my 2nd question is, my drivers side window won't go up or down, now its not the switch its like the window is off track, as it will go down by hand, and now my back passenger side window is doing the same.

My ABS light is on. Not like i need that
The ABS light goes off sometimes when started if it hot out side or if its wet/damp.

I searched but really didn't see anything.

    So far I have done:
    Normal Oil Changes
Went to dealer for recall notice
    New headlights

I think this car was a one owner, the guy who had it used it to deliver pizzas and hit a deer, so there is some damage to the car, but nothing i can't fix

My R&P used to leak, had a shop check it out, and they put some type of liquid sealer in the PS Pump, and that fixed it. So you might try to find something like that.....

As far as the windows go, it's more than likely the window motor...

I've replaced all 4 motor/regulator assemblies in my car, 2 had shot motors, 2 had broken regulator tracks...It's a pretty easy install, just need to pop the door panels off, and use a 10mm to pull the assembly out.

The ABS light being on like that, it might be a wheel bearing that's shot.

Jack the car up, and give each tire a good firm shake side to side, if it wobbles, replace that bearing.

    Good Luck!

If you can move the window by hand. Your off the track or something is broken in there. The only way to be sure is to pop off the door panel and get your head in there.

Can you hear the motor running when you push the button? As long as your wondow isn't broken where the arms attach. Call Morads and have Eric send you some motor/track assemblies.

ABS, as stated. It could be a bad bearing. Could be wiring as well. But, the odds say bearing. Do you hear a growl noise when driving?

Now, when a hose is starting to leak. Your breaking down. A clamp is a temp measure, remember that. Its just buying time. If you can. Replace the hose.
