Quite common in alot of cars. You can get it deodourized at most shops that do A/C service. Its mildew from the condensation

yup, you could go one step further and take apart the airbox and clean it if that disinfectant doesnt help

does the car drip when you run the a/c? if so, the drain is most likely working properly. Otherwise, yea its just moisture on the evaporator and when you turn off the car, the moisture stays and it gets hot and thats breeding ground for mold and mildew.

Hey all, so not meaning to revive an old thread but my wife's 07 Grand Prix has the same issue. Could anybody point me in the direction of how to clean out that drain plug? I don't recall the car ever dripping when running the a/c so I think it's clogged.

    Thanks!
