Well as some of you may know I have a baby on the way, so I need to make on of the cars stock and my wife doesn’t want to drive the gtx with a baby (I don’t want that either), the charger doesn’t get any gas mileage and she its to powerful.
Alright everyone I am going to need some help. I have a huge project ahead of me and don’t have a lot of funds or time. What I need to do is take apart one (White) prix, put the other prix (yellow GTX) back together, and then put a stock block back into a (White) prix. First thing that will need to be completed it getting the motor rebuilt that has a 120000 miles on it. Then pull the stereo out of the (White) prix and paint the box and place in the (yellow GTX). I will also need to take the lowering spring off the (White) prix and put stock springs back in. This is going to suck doing this, I worked so hard for the many years I owned this car just to make it stock again.lol, but I need a family car.
Does anyone know where I can get a cheap computer programmed for a 1997 prix somewhat stock? The only things that are going to stay are: the exhaust and the intercooler kit.
Then I am going to need a 1999 with the program from the 1997 grand prix computer?
Should I keep the fuel pump hotwire kit in the (White) prix?
Life goes by so fast, so why drive slow.

Could you make a chart of some kind that has each car that is involved like

(year?) Yellow gtx ----- needs to be put back together (insert missing parts)
(year?) white (trim level?) ------- parts going into Gtx needs (insert parts list)...

that would help a lot with the people here in trying to help. A good place to look for parts is Morad Parts Company. Just today they had a deal where you get an l67 + computer + transmission for under $2000 shipped.

    With what money
Cost to much money, i will spend less than a 1k to do this. I also get to have my yellow GTX up and going since the engine blew in 2006.
One last thing have to say, there are no cars that appeal to me anymore. They killed the cars I like.

Current engine work with some stuff missing” :
1.7 rocker arms;160 thermostat; ARP Head Stud Kit; Auto Lite 104's; PRJ spark plug wires;BILLET FUEL LOGS;Comp Cams "OE R Series" Hydraulic Roller Lifters; High-Performance Pushrods; Minor Head Work; Lucas 42.5# Injectors; Modular Pulley System 3";New engine; Stage Two ZZP cam; Throttle body adapter; NorthStar V8 Throttle body”

1999 Yellow GTX is going to get the engine and the stereo from the 1997 White GTP.
1997 White GTP is going to get a rebuilt 2001 GTP 120k motor and is keeping the exhaust because the 1999 Yellow GTX already has the exhaust.
The only reason why I am doing it this way I got a motor and a tranny with the wiring harness for 700

How often do you think you will be using that charger. Maybe the GTX will be ur car and the gtp be the family mobile. the charger would be sapping income and taking up space. I would seriously weigh out the positives and negatives of that car and see how close they are on whether that car is worth keeping with your new lifestyle.

Anyways, how about this for the PCM

Thank you, they problem with the charger is that i know how much i paid for it and i cant get anything more than 13k for it so its a no go. i would have better chance parting the car out.
but i will be taking that 97 computer most likely once i am out of work and i am not able to look at ebay at work.

well guys and gals i got the new block in early this week, next week going to start rebuilding the motor. Hope to have the heads off and take them to a shop monday, i will take photo of the progress while the project goes through. It nice got the motor and the tranny for 700 hundred buck. Just hoping that rebuilding the top end will stop the knock on cylinder 5.

Well got the heads off the engine that i bought to have rebuilt. Just need to find a shop to to do the rebuild. The pistons have so much gunk and crap on them, which I believe is causing the engine to knock, hoping that mineral spirits will clean that out nicely.

not on that part, had allot of loose black tar feeling stuff, i think it is due to the 87 fuel thy were putting in the GTP motor. It felt so nice to work on a car again, been awhile since I got to take apart a motor. Just hoping that I can find all the parts i am going to need to this.
