Hi guys and girls just got a 2002 Grand Prix GTP with only 45000 on the odometer. She is completely bone stock and runs good for stock. But like all men I want more. So my ? to to you is what mods so I do and in what order. Whats the most bang for the buck. I have been reading lots of forums and see cars with pulleys/ d.p./ CIA or FWI etc etc etc.... I would like some input from all of you pros out. Thanks alot looking forward to hearing from you.

If you are new too modding here is a good place to start reading.

I though there was a sticky about modding but I couldn't find it. I guess the first place to start is decide how far you want to go with the car. Do you want to do a couple mods to make it faster or do you want to go as far as a turbo? Post up your plans and it will be easier for people to help you. Example, if you think you want to run headers some day don't waste your time on a down pipe.

I was in your boat about a month ago with a stock 97 GTP... it's still pretty stock, actually, but these were my starter mods.

    -Thrasher Cold Air Intake
    -MSD 8.5mm Ignition Wires
    -Autolite 605 (1 step colder)
    -180* thermo

I intend on doing the PCM reflash, alt rewire, voltage booster, and exhaust soon to. That might help you out on a good start.

1997 GTP - STOCK.... for now

Thanks for info/ This car is my daily driver so I don't want to go to extreme.
I really don't care about top end speed ( to many cops here ) but I do want great acceleration.

Some Mods on my mind are
FWI / CAI ( which is better )
    DP
    colder range on my plugs
    thermastat
My plans are for a step down in pulley size
Is this enough for that or do I need more.

I would suggest getting a tuned pcm or a tuner. And as far as CAI, and FWI go that depends on who you are talking to. You will more than likely get mixed answers for that question. A FWI does require more maintenance because the filter is located in a dirtier area.

i would say start with the CIA, Then Plugs and Wires, Some Exhaust Work, and Then a PCM to get you started
