Going to attempt to change out my water pump to save some money. Is there anything special about this job on the 97 compared to other years besides removing supercharger belt?

What one of the 8 bolts is Water Pump Bolt (SAL) 89 in.lb (7.5 lb. ft.) referencing? 4 long 4 short
Is there any bolts that I will need to replace?
Will I need any other parts besides permatex high temp red sealer, delco 252-693 water pump + gasket?
Is permatex sufficient enough to seal the 4 long bolts that go into the engine block?

Nope, I sealed my long bolts with teflon tape as they go right into a water jacket.
I got lucky with using teflon tape, but there is a proper sealer you should use. If you look in the how to section you will find a write up for changing the water pump. The correct sealer is described there. Not a difficult job at all.

use Permatex 22071 water pump and thermostat sealant to seal the threads
You can can also use it to seal the pump. I prefer to use the fel pro plastic water pump gasket.

These water pumps are very easy.

p/s steering pump needs to come off, just unbolt and hang it, and the lower sc idler pulley, some have a torx bolt t50 iirc and other are 15 mm bolt.

break the 4 bolts on the w/p pulley then remove the belt, same for when you finishing it up, snug em then belt on, remember to make em good and tight after the belt is back on.

also no rtv, dry gasket after cleaning the timing cover well of any old gasket.
