looking into mufflers, and found some really cheap thrush mufflers, and flowmasters, anyone know how they sound on gtps?

im not doing a full exhaust considering i just got a new resonator 3 months ago, and the piping to the mufflers arent in bad shape, just the mufflers.

    thanks

i have flow 40s on my car. with a big glasspack they sounded alright, but they drone like a mofo. i went back to a stock catback after i had these, so i dont have any opinons on much other mufflers. the only muffler i really liked on people's cars are borla, but they arent 'cheap' either.

as a whole, chambered mufflers sound like butt on our cars.

ya i was looking at thrush, i saw a bunch of glasspacks but not regular mufflers, so which ones are you talking about.

And i think every car with an exhuast has drone mustangs and GTOs do atleast.

I have a 3" downpipe with cat and stock catback with the mufflers replaced with flowmaster 40 series. I'm not sure where people get that these things sound like ass with them because I love the way it sounds. Yes it does drone a little but nothing that you wouldn't expect with replacing the mufflers for performance ones. I have the stock resonator but I wanted to change that out for something as well. Maybe a glass pack or maybe some whisper resonator from ZZP.

they get really raspy when you dont have a resonator/glasspack. having a cat helps too.

try those same mufflers with a full 2.5" catback and no resonator. they are loud.

Im getting a SLP Powerflo catback sometime in the future when I decide to change my exhaust. I dont think their is much you can do about rasp in these cars. Hell the stock exhaust has some rasp to it.

x2 except imo all v6s are somewhat raspy, unless you spend the money. thou i dont know much about exhaust, personally a 3" dp with the rest stock sounds good enough to me. never been a fan of cat backs on anything but v8s.

I just put Magnaflows on mine, and I really cant hear any difference. Sounds exactly the same as the factory exhaust.
