It is a real Daytona as it came from the factory in a limited edition of 2000. They made, i believe it was 5 real ones for the race itself and whether the general public ended up with those 5 or not i'm not really sure.
Five, did you ever get a new GTP. There's a really clean 99 GTP, red in color with 77k for sale in Texas for 4k.....
Re: Is this the right spoiler for the 2000 Daytona GTP?
I'm am talikng with this lady in Coon Rapids about a 98 White 4 door GTP with 130k miles on it. She said the tranny blew two weeks ago and right now its in the shop getting a brand new transmission(with warranty) . So after the tranny is fixed she is going to give me call so I can come and look at it. It sound like a great car with every option for the year and only thing she said was wrong was the front bumper had a small crack and one blown speaker on the drivers side door. She wants only around 3400 for it and if the test drive checks out and I really like it, I will offer her like 3000 cash. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Re: Is this the right spoiler for the 2000 Daytona GTP?
as for the stickers i and the previous driver dont know what happened to em. i think they were removed cuz he didnt like em. if they were still on id rock em but as for replacements they are hella expensive from the dealer so... also the official pace car came with strobes and whatnot. all public daytonas are replicas.

yea the chances of getting a daytona that actually saw a nascar track is slim to none... theyre pretty much all replicas.. whats ur point?
Re: Is this the right spoiler for the 2000 Daytona GTP?
no point. Just saying it was not a real one and I didnt even bother searching that fact about the difference between a nascar one and a street one. I really dont care that I was wrong about the replicas being the street cars, I just didnt think it through. End of story.

There was one for sale locally around me.. That's the first and only I've ever seen. Light bar, graphics, and all.

This sound's like a good buy at 3k. if the bumper is not too bad then all the better. a tranny rebuild is 3k alone. who know's maybe she only drove it to church on sunday's. that's a lot of church or the church is located in another state. You van get the speaker out of a salvage yard somewhere close by. do check under the rockers for rust though and the passenger side floorboard for water....
Re: Is this the right spoiler for the 2000 Daytona GTP?
This lady is only like 25 and she bought it from a 60 year grandma. She drove freeways mile on the car until the tranny went. But ya it does sound like a great car for the money and she said it was like around 1500 for the tranny fix. Which is good for me because I dont have to shell out the money to get it fixed. The speakers and bumper dont really matter to me at all and she said there is no rust. So I hope it is out of the shop by mid week so I can go look and hopefully buy it.

Make sure to report back if you buy it. I've been looking to buy a 2000 or 98 GTP daytona car. It's been less than fruitful so far. It seems the ones i find have been butchered by some hacks who don't know what theyre doing.....
Re: Is this the right spoiler for the 2000 Daytona GTP?
I will. I really want this one because I have no car and Im getting rides from my parents to work. If I do get it (hopefully by the end of this week) I will post pictures and the info about it. It will be a great car for me because I will be going to tech school for auto in the fall and then will have all the tools I need to fix and mod this car.

Hey Five. You know i've been looking for a GTP. Well i've bought one. Here's the link:http:1998 Pontiac Grand Prix Gt Daytona 500 Ed. For Sale In Highland Park, NJ - AutoShopper.com
You'll have to copy and paste. It may not be your thing but I thought you might enjoy seeing it. It should be here from the transport co. next week. I'll make a formal introduction on another post when I get it. It's getting difficult to find the Daytona model in un-molested condition. People de-badge these and do other horrendous things to them...
Oops. no need to copy and paste..

Heh heh, is there such a thing as a black Daytona 500 GTP? No. Yes, you can buy the decals through the Dealership or GMPartsDirect. They are Very, very expensive, & have 4 parts numbers. The parts numbers can be found by asking me, as GM dealers will not give out parts numbers anymore, & clubgp does not have these posted.:th_thumbsup-wink:

They pulled it early from the Ebay auction. Then listed it on Autotrader the same day (saturday) for the ridiculous 9 grand. I don't see them getting more than 5 for it. Did you see the front seats? I ended up buying a sweet unmolested 98 Daytona GP from NJ. it should be here next week. The link is in this post at the very end. Thank's for your sage advice...

Thank's for the info on the stickers. What i don't understand is why people buy these 2000 Daytona's and the first thing they do is rip off the decals and sometimes the badges. Why don't they just buy a silver GTP in the first place and we would have a lot more intact Daytona's. It just ruins the value of them. Also, as i mentioned in this post to another member i did buy an intact 98 Daytona....
Re: Is this the right spoiler for the 2000 Daytona GTP?
Some of the Daytonas came with delete options for the decals. Idk if you can just buy a galaxy silver GP, they may all be Daytona 500's. Maybe it does ruin the value, too many Daytona's have been wrecked. 98' daytona is sexy in that Medium Gulf Blue!

Good info. I didn't know about the delete option on the stickers. Is galaxy silver exclusive to the 2000 Daytona? The blue color on the 98 is more of a guy color too. The 2000 Daytona has a slightly feminine look to it but i'd still buy one nonetheless...
Re: Is this the right spoiler for the 2000 Daytona GTP?
Idk if the color is exclusive but, ive nvr seen it on any other GP. I want my GP to be medium gulf blue.

I hope to buy one later this week. I have two people interested in my want ad on craigslist. That white car I told you about and this guy just emailed me one that has only 121k on it and was from az. If I get one we should maybe meet up and look at each other new purchases.
