Thank You so much Bobc45![]()
Ok,
What you are going to have to do first is get the proper regulator before you begin. Note that there are 2 door and 4 door regulators and for the 4 doors there are fronts and backs as well. I would not start this until you have a new one ready to put in. I have never heard of anyone replacing the cable, but it may be possible. I would go with a new one from Ebay, which you should be able to get for pretty cheap.
Once you have it in place, you need to reach into the openings where the door skin was and loosen the bolts on the plastic pieces that hold the regulator to the glass.
Once the glass is loose, you need to pull it up and get it free from the door.
Once the glass is out, you will see 2-3 bolt heads that need to be loostened, then the regulator will slide loose. If you hold the new regulator up to the door, you will see the pattern and know which ones to loosten. Once they are loose, you will be able to remove the regulator. be sure to disconnect the electrical connector.
You kind of have to work it out through one of the openings, but once you figure this out, you will know how to get the new one installed. If you follow those steps in reverse, you will be able to put it all together. I also suggest using a silicon spray in the tracks when you replace the glass. The glass is kind of tricky to line back up, but this is kind of a hit or miss process to align the glass,
I hope this helps.
Bill
Thank You, Bill every bit of info I can get is helpful. It looks like a tricky job that is going to take alot of patience to get it done.![]()
Just to add to Bills, the glass doesn't have to be removed fully, if you start with the window half way down when your loosening all the bolts it'll make things a lot easier. When the glass is loose pull it up out of its mounts so the window is in the full up position then tape it up there out the way. Thats how I did it when I had to fix mine...
I just slid it up and stuck tape on it as well, it worked great =) duck tape is mans best friend.
