    I have a potentially DUMB question. How can I figure out if my '97 Grand Prix is a GTP or a GT?

    I keep seeing those acronyms on this website, but I'm not familiar with what they stand for.

    I have the 3.8 V6 SE Sedan, if that helps at all.

    I'm brand new and figuring my way around here.

    Thanks!
    Christine

    GTP= supercharged

    GT= Naturally Aspirated

    Thanks guys!

    Okay, so I don't have a GT or a GTP, just an SE.

    My next question (and please let me know if I should move it), is how do I know whether my car should have the HUD and/or DIC working?

    When I test-drove it, I don't remember seeing either one of them lit up.

    Are these options that should still be working in my model or is it possible that they were never lit up?

    Thank you!

    It looks EXACTLY like that. What's your diagnosis?

    If there options, I guess it only depends on if the original owner purchased them. Do you have any documentation of the vehicle you could look at?

    Does it have a hole in the dash in front of the steering wheels that's approxiametely 5x3 inches? If not then it doesn't have HUD (Heads up Display). If it does you should be able to see your speed and other info on the windshield
    No More GTP for me.

    I saw some in the glove department when I checked out the car. When I get it home tonight, I'll look around and see what it has. It won't be a big deal if it doesn't have it... I was just curious, more than anything.

    I will check this as soon as I get it home tonight. I'm really excited!

    Thank you for your helpful comment. My SE hasn't shown any signs of blowing yet. In fact, I like it very much. Also, a car that goes and stops when I ask it to is already worth more than $200 to me.

    Yea not everyones in it for speed and looks, options etc... For instance my GTP is the slowest car I own and it's my daily driver. I got it for my daily driver though b/c it's not incredibly slow, it's got tons of options. It's big and it's a 4 door so I dont have to fold the damn seats up everytime I have more then 1 other person along with. It's the most comfortable thing I own to drive however.
