So a few weeks ago i stop at the gas station. the one i always go to and always get ninety ****ing three. My tank was empty, i ask him kindly to fill it with 93. He starts the pump, I'm going through my center console waiting for it to fill up. I look over to see how much its going to cost, when i see its cheaper than usual and my tank is just about full, well i look down and see that the "87" button was lit up, i screamed "HOLY ****ING ****!", i then jumped out of the car, yanked the pump out and through it down. When the guy came back over, i told him he was a ****ing idiot and i left. I added octane booster thinking it might help some, well it didn't. I ran down the tank 2wice now, the first time adding 14.9 gallons of 93 and the second time with 16 gallons of 93 and I'm still getting a good amount of 2nd gear knock. I'm out of ideas and don't know what to do

It’s an east coast thing, many places you can’t pump gas yourself.

Anyway back on topic, it takes a lot of those store bought “octane boosters” to make any difference. Disclaimer: I have never done this but I hear you can purchase xylene at a hardware store that makes an excellent octane booster and fuel system cleaner. IIRC about 2-4 quarts will do you.

Ten years of continuous driving excitement and counting!
