Wiring through Firewall

All,
Hi, I joined this forum because I currently have a 2000 grand prix GT 4 door. Its a nice car but, the darn stereo was shorting out when I got it. So, Monday I purchased a new Alpine CDA-117 head unit and infinity speakers all around. I also Have a 12" Rockford Fosgate HE2 sub and an amp that I will be wiring up along with a Rockford Fosgate Regulator and a Stinger 1700amp battery. Soon I will have a new box made and will also include my two 8" subs to the mix.

The problem:
I hate running wire along the door, the solution I have heard is using this grommet under the carpet on the passanger side. I am using 1/0 gauge wire because thats what I need for the regulator and other battery (go hard or go home kinda thing). What I want is any pictures anyone has of grand prix that has done this wiring and may have laying around or could take so I can feel more confident about this job. I have done many installs for friends and also a few de-installs (thats were the fosgate regulator and battery came from, kid didn't even know it was under there and when I told him I would give him 300 for it all he said yes). So, if you have any pics I sure will appreciate them and I plan on taking many pictures and possibly video of this install and will see if I can share with ya all and anyone else who will go through this process in the future.

P.S. I also got the steering wheel controll adapter, any advise on that is welcome too, hear it can be a pain in the butt to program.

Pull the carpet up under the glove box and you should see the plug on the floor.. Kinda where you would normally put put your feet on the passenger side.

You could also go through driver side left of steering column, there is an empty grommet. That is depending on how much cable you have and which side you plan on running rcas, i usually run mine down the pass side.

And it might not be your radio shorting out, you could have the factory amp going, that is if you have a bose system. If thats the case i would do a 4 channel amp as well, while your already in there.

Uhm, yea shoulda been more specific on the car stereo set up. I have a GT but, its contains the crappy system (no bose). So no amp. The funny thing about its shorting out is that the rear speakers wont work unless if its hot inside the car, like really hot (sitting in the sun all day on a 35+ day).... Something severly wrong I guess.

Also, ya all can tell I am probably going a bit overboard on my system.... but, there may be more upgrades in the future. car has small issues here and there that still need fixed till I do anything really crazy. But, I love music. I have over 3,500 songs and am constantly listening to it. Hard Rock, Rock, Pop, Alternative, Punk, 80's (1 hit wonders), Country, Techno, Dance..... haha. lots of music.

WOW mine goes for 3 days haha. this is my 3rd library (deleted first two) and im sure if i were to put all 3 together it might play for 2 weeks. so a month of music is overkill...but awesome!

haha i put it on random when im on the computer and that usually keeps me content...you know, while im on GPF of course...

I agree it is way overkill, there are songs I hate when they show up on shuffle but I won't delete to keep collection large. 8 Years of music collecting has turned into 39 days in over 13,600 files.
