i have a small exhaust leak about 3-5 inches after the downpipe.

    my question(s) is/are:

-can i weld on the stock exhaust?
-is there some type of filler to use?
-do i gotta buy new exhaust? or can i cut out the bad portion of the pipe and weld/tac on new piece?

i got a 3" d/p from zzp and the rest of the exhaust is stock.

id rather do a diy job instead of paying for labor and a new exhaust pipe but im not sure on what all i can do to the stock exhaust.

i can post pics if needed. thanks.

i would think you can cut out the bad peice and weld in a new one just as long as its close in size, so its easy to weld, and you dont leave any holes...

Weld it. As long as your not using jbweld and dont really care about looks... weld away my friend. Hit it with spray paint or something after to keep from rusting further.

i wouldnt weld with the car on the ground..lol thats what car lifts are for. just wasnt sure about what type of metal the stock exhaust was.

ill most likely take it to an exhaust shop unless it costs more than an arm and a leg then ill do it myself. whats the diameter of the exhaust pipe on stock exhaust? 2.5"? 2.25"?

    thanks for the feedback
