I have a 97 GXP. The car shuts off whenever it feels like it. Won't start, driving down an alley, hard acceleration, it just shuts off with no warning whatsoever. I changed the ignition module, it didn't act up for a few days and then it just quit again. The car hasn't stranded me, I just let it sit for about a minute and it fires right up.

My buddy who thought it was a the module thinks it's the crank sensor. I'm open to any suggestions.

i also think its the CPS (crank position sensor). when they get old they get intermittent and without it the car doesnt run.

97 GXP? Are you sure on that?

But yes, I second the CPS going bad.

Had it fixed a week ago. No problems, $30 part, $80 labour. I shouldn't have waited so long. Thanks for the advice.
