If you don't want water splashing around in the reservoir the build some walls in the tank in the shape of a "#" sign but leave holes in the bottom for the coolant to move freely without sloshing in the reservoir. This is commonly used in gas tanks and aftermarket oilpans to prevent running dry when the vehicle is heavily cornering or braking.

Also if your going to use the tank for filling and bleeding then doesn't it have to be at the highest point in the system.

Just toss a bag of ice on top of the engine when you park after making a run. Icing the intercooler is only going to make a very minor difference on top of that, anyway.

The baffles were the first thing I thought about also! But I did find a 2 gallon reservoir with a sealable top so I think that's the direction I will head.

I'm not a fan of throwing a bag of ice on top of my polished blower making water spots and such. I'm also not just looking for a quick way to increase performance at the track but I'm looking to make a setup that is something other's can emulate and get similar results while STILL staying under the price of a full sized intercooler.

I'm looking to optimize the performance of my intercooling system. An ice box, even without ice, will allow the cooler liquid to fall to the bottom of the res and flow out to the core. With ice in the box, my cooling abilities should be optimized and results should be impressive.
