Im getting a noise in the left rear when i go over bumps. I had a friend look at it and he said the body could be separating? Not sure what to do? Just looking for help, the body already has some rust, not sure if that could be apart of the issue? please help!

Well this is coming from someone who has TONS of rust experience, and i have to deal with 2 VERY rusty GP's, mine is all cosmetic, my sisters is all structural. I did in fact have to rebuild the R/R trailing arm box because it almost totally rotted out, and on top of that the tunnel is TOTALLY gone under the back seat and the body is near perfect. I kind of doubt its "seperating". What you probably have is a broken sway bar in the rear thats knocking all over the place. What i would recommend is to get it to a shop that will put it up on a rack and let you go out and look at it with them. Just tell them your wondering whats wrong with the rear suspension and think it may be a rust issue or a broken sway bar. At that point you can get a good look at how bad your issue really is. But i will tell you this, these cars are built very well structurally, and it takes A LOT of rust to really be an issue with running gear!

well heres the thing, i just had it up on the rack bcus i was getting new tires and we found out the left ball joint was screwed.. thats a different story but the guys we were worken with were able to catch that and i dont know everything but im pretty sure they wouldve noticed that while they were under there. and i wasnt there when he looked at it but apparently he was looking in the trunk.. not sure because the carpet was down in the back and i couldnt tell what he was talking about.

hmmm, maybe he's talking about the rear strut towers or something of that nature, another common problem on these cars thats VERY easy to diagnose is bad rear strut mounts that were very poorly designed. All you have to do to check these is put both your hands on the top of your rear tire and push in and let off, it will basically feel loose and you can feel things moving and maybe some noise and that could be the problem. Especially if they haven't been done and your over 100k it would be somewhere to start looking
