finally got the money and time going to start building my intake this weekend and need to know where to find that huge spectre filter that I see everyone using and talking about? Or where should I look for a filter for a good price?

autozone, pepboys and there about as cheap as you wanna go
i think mine was $29 and it has sleeves that slide out of the opening for 3,3 1/2,4"
plan on getting some stainless 4" and getting it closer to the fender though

When I bought the kit from autozone I saw the spectre filter and was thinking.. man how cheap is this filter. I guess cost nothing to do with performance since it's actually a pretty good filter. Will def. buy one for the gtp.

thats exactly how mine was, why would you want to go closer to the fender when you are cammed?

You could put the IAT in one of the breather filters they have at autozone...

    And that would do what?

Nothing. Well...you'd have a miniature cone filter ornament dangling around in your engine bay...I guess thats cool.

It would keep dirt out of you IAT. Either way the PCM is going to read hot intake air temps, so why does it matter.

Because you think your IAT is going to get dirty and hurt things? LOL SO...would you put a filter over your air filter then too?

Personally, it makes no difference to me. My IAT is in the intake tube. He only said he was worried about the IAT so I offered a solution.

Only real ignorance is you thinking IAT placement makes a difference...that and making the suggestion to put a breather filter over the IAT.

Jesus...is this how all the Manhattan Street Scene kids act?

Good job editing my post to make it say what you want it to say. I'm just calling it as I see it. IAT's don't really matter...its all about flow. But if you put on both filters...it'll make twice the horsepowah
