my door sags and pops when you open/close it. the roller and pin is bad. can i just replace the pin? i did a search and ppl are saying you have to replace the whole hinge and the fender is in the way for that too. any other way to fix this? its driving me nutz. the passenger side is doing it a little too.

are your fenders beginning to be creased from the door hitting the fender?

its not hitting the fender that i know of. the roller is broken and making the noise, i think. its not sagging much, just really noisy.

I had a little sag to the driver door. Someone else on here had the same problem and used a fender shim to fix it. I did the same, and it worked like a charm. Replacing the entire hinge is necessary, and not a ton of fun, but it sounds like if your parts are physically broken you might have to do it.

yeah a shim isnt going to fix it, roller is broke. since when did gm make it so you have to replace the whole hinge to fix the pin? thats crazy. where can i get a new hinge?

looking at it again the roller is making all the noise. if i remove the door spring the noise should go away and the door wont bind at 2 spots while opening. does that spring need to be in there or is it only to hold the door open?

Did you ever get this replaced? My 2door 2000 GTP is sagging enough on the driver side that the paint worn off. I am debating to get shims or a whole new hinge. Let me know how bad that hinge replacement was and i'll go from there.

i have completed replacement of door hinges, it takes a lot of patience and fine adjustment to get it just right but in the end its well worth it, make sure to mark the hinges by scribing it, a marker or sharpie doesnt work well cause of the angle of the hinges, took about 2 hours with fine adjustment, if you can use a floor jack with a T adapter to support the entire door, but be careful of the ground effects piece as it wraps around the bottom of the door..... HOPE IT HELPS!
