This happened to me once. I had a bad starter a while back, when my mechanic installed the new one they knocked loose a ground wire..That ground wire controled my radiator fans so the car was overheating. Thats when the shifter became locked. Well I took the car to another shop and by re-grounding the wire the shifter worked fine again. Sooo most likely its a loose wire or some sh!t. Could be something else tho![]()
so where is this grounding cable located? Is that really all it can be?
Thanks
There is a solenoid by the shifter that sticks. Check for broken wires going to it to. It is under the center consul.
They commonly go bad as well.
Just remembered.
My cousins girlfriends (i know very closely related) car was doing this. When I took apart the center consul there had to be like 3 bottles worth of coke split down there and a bag of chips split. Fat *****. Have fun seeing what is in your car.
mine was on a ledge type piece of metal under were the MAF is
