My car shut off while i was driving last night...i accelerated from 40 to about 65 mph...right after that the car shut off on me. The power was still on in the car..but the motor just turned off on me..so i coasted into a auto zone parking lot..and stopped. i tried restarting the car and it ran for about 5 seconds and died...then i tried restarting it about and all i heard was a clicking sound from the starter. i tried a new battery and that didnt work..the guy at auto zone connected code reader and said that the check engine light was on because of a EGR valve. Aswell when the car died on me while driving the oil light came on. Anyone have any idea what it might be?

so i went to the salvege yard where i got the motor from last week and they said that the people that put the motor in for me put the oil filter in wrong and didnt line up the gasket...now they are telling me that it lost its oil...when i broke down the oil was still in the car...and i looked under the car and i could not see any leaks...i have a feeling the salvege yard is bull****ing me just so they dont have to honor the warranty on the motor...they called me saying whoever installed the motor for me owes me a new motor.

You would of noticed if your oil filter wasn't on right, your oil would of been gone instantly.

EGR = an emissions valve that controls the exhaust fumes, and is electrical, can malfunction and cause the car to run like crap, or not run at all.

They tend to get stuck open which will cause the car to stall.
