Just as the topic reads, what else shoudl I get for my car. I am going to be receiving some extra cash thanks to Uncle Sam "taxes and stimilus package".

The first thing is going to be new brakes all the way around, so I can pass state inspection in July. I was also thinking about a new exhaust system.

Now I haven't done too many performance mods, since I am still under an extended warranty, but what would you all do with what I have done so far. I have just installed my new MSD coils, PRJ wires, and NGK plugs. And the only other modification is a Thrasher CAI.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

1.9 roller rockers, if it's under warranty, this is a perfect mod instead of a cam
    A pcm, either overkill, zzp...???
A front ported exhaust manifold/P.E.M., and then a 2.5 or 3" downpipe, the rear manifold isn't as restrictive
    after that a 3.4" pulley

no need to think about a MAF or larger TB for a while. A DP takes care of the unbend. I had very good results with a powerlog, stock rear mani and a DP.

Modded stock rockers are good too, especially since they look like stock.. Sometimes I wished I had stayed with my rockers.

ER rockers are of the stock type. They take stock rockers and re-weld the seats. Look like stock if you just pop the oil cap or valve covers.

Look through ZZP's valve train section. They mention if it they started as stockers or not.

3800 performance's page has a good description on the process that goes into modding the stock rockers to a new ratio and a picture of a rocker on a fixture to be modified. They also have the best price, but I don't know what their quality is like.
High Ratio Rocker Arms: 3800 Performance

W-Body store has a good introduction to the benefits of rockers if you are new to valve train modifications.

I just put in a set of modded rockers a week ago. Awesome mod. Great top end pull and even down into mid range it is stronger. And I haven't even had Overkill retune for them yet.

Anyone know what ratio the ER rockers are from ZZP? They say they have the best gains over any ratio for the L36 and I've only heard good things about them.

Also, a SS M90 kit may be in my future. How do the ER rockers do with a SC?

NP man. I would have copied and pasted it here, but since it's a word doc with graphs, I didn't figure it would work as desired.

Okay, so the ERs are the best for the L36, but what about going to forced induction? I know they may not be the best, but still quite better than stock, correct?

I don't know enough about this subject to be any help. I'm not sure how adding a s/c or turbo, would change things, if at all.

Well 1.9 is a well proven ratio for supercharged 3800s. In theory 1.84 is actually closer to ideal given the stock heads flow characteristics. The ER rocker's ratio is a trade secret so we don't know what they are. The ER rockers were researched by Easy Performance, but even looking at their data comparing the ER rockers to 1.9s on a N/A 3800, I'd still go with the 1.9s personally. I like the better torque the 1.9s have on the N/A engine.

And I think we have strayed off topic a bit.

What about headers and/or a downpipe? Would this be beneficial with the stock exhaust. And this is a CompG we are talking about. Or should I get a better exhaust set-up, then work on headers and a downpipe? I am not good with any of this. And I would think if I was to put in an aftermarket PCM that would void my warranty.

I assume by downpipe you are not referring to the ones that come with headers, so they are mutually exclusive. Headers OR Downpipe. A downpipe and Power Log are a good exhaust combo for a mild to moderate setup. Save the money you would otherwise spend on headers for other go fast goodies. The stock exhaust from the cat back is not restrictive until you are in the 12 second range. So there is no need to throw away money on it unless you obsessed with getting a certain sound (and the 3800's exhaust doesn't sound good anyway IMO).

Doing exhaust modifications is going to void your warranty faster than a PCM. The beauty of a PCM is, if you are willing to swallow the core charge and keep your stock PCM, you can just change your aftermarket PCM for the stock one in a few minutes.
