I have a 1998 Grand Prix Gt. For 2 weeks it has been hard to turn the steering wheel left but it turns right just fine. Reversed out of the driveway today and I cant go left at all! It still turns right fine.

My hubby does great Fixing the problems on my GP(lots of them) and is tired of it. I have been lucky to keep it this long, but now he is really irritated with it and wants it out. He thinks it could be tire rod ends or something to do with rack and pinion. Are these easy/cheap fixes?

I love this car and need to convince him that it wont take much to fix. Are there any other possibilities that could cause this?

    I appreciate any theories..................

more then likely its the rack, the racks in these are junk, there not that bad to change if your pretty mechanically inclined. Basically just drop the k frame about 6 inches and you can get right to it.
F clean cars, I Ride Dirty!.....to hide the wicked body damage...
97 GP GTP- Mystic Teal, 218k, fixing the damage
91 Cherokee- 4 in. Lift, 31 Kumho M/T, tons of fun
03 Chevy S10- full bag setup on order, will drag frame in under a month
