So, I was having issues with my cooling system. On a cold start, it would act like the thermostat would not open. The temp would go up to 240ish and I would shut the car off. I wouldn't have heat at this point either. Eventually the temp would drop down, I would get heat, and it would be fine. It would not over heat after that but the temperature would fluxuate 15-20*. The whole time I could hear the pump running and I bleeded the crap out of the system.
I changed the rad cap, thermo, ran a pressure test on the system, combustion gas die test, checked flow in all directions to find a blockage and hooked the pump up to 12v not mounted to make sure it spun.

Finally I just swapped the stock WP back on and problem solved. I noticed a much better flow looking in the rad cap and I had heat much sooner.

Just a FYI cause I've never seen any info on one failing.

Meziere said they would rebuild it for $150 too.

I was wondering the longitivity of these units. I've been wanting to get one of these for sometime now, but I'm wondering if I should just get a mechanical when the time comes.

BTW, my original Mechanical pump on my White GTP has 170,000+ on it. My Black GTP has 150,000 on its original as well....

Well, the electric pumps are rated at 100k. So you know up front not to expect the mileage of the mechanical.

If youre looking to gain a miniscule amount of hp for the money and problems then get one. Otherwise, get some different mods.

I would get one for the track. Running it with the car off cooling down.

Hp/$ is definitely not worth it. But I don't consider 80k and 6 years of trouble free operation a problem.

I have one because the price was right. So far, zero issues. Although I'm pretty sure I don't have the same mileage on it like you do Mike.

And I never noticed one ounce of additional power.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
