Hey guys. I have never done one before, but I have seen quite a few being installed. There is about 10-15 wires that have to be either spliced into or cut and routed through the Auto-Starter itself, depending on if you want your factory security (panic Button) and power locks to work through the Auto-starters remote. Where i work we have a guy come around who does all of our installs. When you buy the auto-starter you acutally dont get all that you need to put them in your vehicle. You actually need what called an Interface Module. It communicates with your cars computer to "trick" it into thinking the key is in the ignition. Here is the kind of starters we sell At Canadian Tire here in Canada.

ProStart | ProGuard - Remote Control Car Starters and Alarms

    Interface Module

The second link is where i did just a general search for and interface module for a GP. Imhaving some trouble finding the site where you can actually order the modules, but if memory serves they are about another 50 dollars for the module. (I believe the module will come with a wiring diagram as well)

I am just familiar with these kits here. There may be some out there that you will not need a module to install them. I would like to hear about them if there is!

I'm trying to put in a Remote Start on my 08 GP. Just looking for a wiring diagram for the car. If you have one, please let me know!

So far I've purchased a Viper Unit, and two other units for the remote start function and the door locks. I'll also need to purchase another unit so I can upgrade the door lock box to make it work with the GP. I'll list the units I've purchased below:
    Viper 5101 $100ish
    XPressKit XP01 $30ish
    XPressKit 556UW $20ish
    XpressKit Xkloader $50ish
You can get one unit to cover the XP01 and 556UW but it's around $65. If anybody has input, please let me know. When I get everything in and try and install it, I'll post maybe a how-to (or a how-not! lol).

i have an autopage rs 727 2-way cost me 100$ and installed myself was easy as pie.....tip: if you have a starter kill relay in your alarm here is a super cost effective way of bypassing the passlock III in the igntion system. Go to ace and get your key copied. Take apart your steering column trim. Place the original (passlock key) key near where the key goes in and now try your copied key with no chip in it. IT WORKS the car thinks the passlock key is in the igntion all the time now so just tape that key to the spot on the steering column and make sure it works and put the column trim back on and you'll never know its there. Dont worry about the pass lock being disabled as you already have a starter kill relay so the igntion is disabled when the car is locked any how.

i have had this alarm for 2 years its an amazing unit for a great price and my cheap passlock setup has worked without fail for 2 years also

Something about taping your key in the steering column just doesn't sit right with me. A theft is going to tear into that steering column and see that key sitting there and then he's going to think to himself "Jackpot". I bought a 20.00 bypass to out on my remote start/Alarm system, so my Pass-Key III still works and there is no hidden key in my steering column.

I just started to install mine on a 2001 Grand Prix GTP and the only trouble i'm having is trying to find a rearm wire for the factory alarm system. I have looked at more pages of wiring diagrams then all the Harry Potter books combined, and none of them have a rearm wire labeled. I went to my local GM Dealer and all they could say is "Geeee, I don't Know" But what did I expect coming from a small redneck town. I can't even figure out the doors and windows, and it's already took a huge dump of snow on us. So i'm waiting till it warms up before finishing the rest but at least my alarm/remote start work and I can start my car from a mile a way which came in handy yesterday when I had to go to super wal-mart in a blizzard, I started my car all the way from the back of the store that's convenience!

Here's the wiring diagram for a 2001 grand prix
