ok so i have a 1992 pontiac grand prix le and i have tires on it that came off of a minivan that we sold a while back. i don't want to get different tires and i don't want to do any body work. the dilemma is that when i turn sharp...REALLY sharp. the wheels rub on the wheel wells. I would like to solve this problem by lifting my car a little bit off of the ground farther. If you could walk me through any way you can im open to any option. I have considered maybe modifying some things to use air bags or maybe just convert it to hold shocks instead of struts?thanks for any help you can provide!

I do not think liftin git would help... The clearance issue is in the wheel wells because the tires are larger. If it is hitting the plastic wheel well liner, I would cut the plastic and get replacements from a salvage yard to keep in hand when you put the proper tires back on. If not the plastic, but the chassis, you are SOL.

And I do not think you can convert to just shocks, because you will need a spring in there some way or fashion.

With the wrong size tire on the car, your speedo is probably off too. If you raise the car, you raise the center of gravity and handling capabilities.

Here is an idea... I am not a rim guy but you may be able to put spacers on the lug stems to push the rim/tire outward more, thus giving you more travel in a tight turn when the rim turns inward. May have to get longer lug stems for the fronts in addition to the spacers. I dunnno, just a thought.
