Hey I just bought a 05 GTP earlier this week and I want to make it a 270-280 to the wheels car withouth making it something that will just tear the engine up. Just wondering what ideas u guys got.

read the modding your 3800 thread. that will answer your questions.

also, 270-280 to the wheels is a random number and youll still probably break things with that power level. i know i did.

For the 04+ you need better breathing mods. You would need to for sure start with exhaust and aftermarket intake. Then from there go on to headers and cam. From reading around with headers and cam and of course the basic supporting mods you should be able to run a 3.4. Of course don't forget to get a good tune! Now..Will that put you at the HP you want...That IDK! But just remember the better your car can breath the better on your engine...free up as much KR as you can!

Honestly i pulled that number out of my a** lol but anyways ya i was thinking making the car breathe better would be a lot better. Really all i want is the car to be pretty quick which it already is I know but the more power the better haha. I just want to becareful with what I do to it so it can still be that daily driver but still be able to have some fun in it

a set of headers, an intercooler, a smaller pulley, and a tune will make the car into a monster. you can probably piece all of that together for less than $2000.

Listen to ree-ree above this post...a stage 2 IC setup, injectors, headers, intake of some sort, a tune, and a probably a 3.0" or smaller pulley...

Here's what I've found out so far... do your exhaust, do your intake, get a tuner. That's the order I'm doing mine in on my 06. You gotta walk before you run.

well to be fair, if you drive like an a-hole your car probably wont last very long anyway. ive got a 3.4 setup and 95xxx miles on my car and it runs great. even the powersteering doesnt leak. ive heard of people with stock cars run them into the ground because they hammered it every where they went.

Like about two weeks ago I ran 9.4@74 in 1/8 spinning and my ET was 14.6...My car is stock...I know the ET 1/4 can't not really be right cause it is a estimated time. But Shouldn't you be faster?

Maybe Jess...but if he toasted his car on the launch and his 60' was bad...then yeah...it could be that slow.
