    Hello guys. I found this site while searching for info on grand prix climate control issues. I need some help diagnosing my car's problem. Here is what is going on:
    *2001 Grand Prix GT(3.8 k engine) with dual climate control
    *Noticed about 2 weeks ago started running hotter than usual(from about 180 to 195 now)
    *now I am only getting warm air thru the climate system even when set for just air from outside(no ac or defrost turned on)
    *no cold air when ac on whether max or min setting
    *blower fan seems to be working properly
    *vacuum control for defrost/dash/floor working properly
    *blend door actuator working
    *engine whine when set on ac or defrost(changes as the rpms change)
    *removed blend door actuator and can move door manually easily
    *have had the radiator flushed and new thermostat installed

    Any help or ideas would be appreciated

    sounds to me like the coolant flow going to the heater core is stuck open, and will not bypass.

    Thanks Liquifire. Is there some way to check this either under the hood or does it require the heater core coming out from under the dash?

    unfortunately I have no experience with the heater core and do not know where the switch, relay, or anything else is. If you can find out where it would mechanically block off the coolant flow and check there to start. If I find anything else I will let you know...
