I was wondering what years are most mod safe. I have my eye on an 03 Special Edition but I've heard something about them that's making me draw back. Somebody told me not to get 97 either. Just wondering thanks!

Yes...'97's suck...only bad thing about '03's is you can't get the PCM from '98-'02 GTP's for it since the transmission is different...everything else is the same. Get an '03...the transmission's also have the upgraded 4th clutch that go out alot on the '97-'02 GTP's.

Plus...I've got one...and can say I love it

they are all the same pretty much after '97. the '97s were a little quirky. a couple messed up issues that you probably dont want to deal with it.

So if I order a new pcm it wouldn't matter if I got 98-02 or an 03 because it's designed to work with my car correct? I probably won't be swapping out any pcm's with any other GTP. So besides that the 03 is the better choice?

    No...what did I say.

If you still have the 2003 transmission IT DOES MATTER. If you get a '98-'02 GTP PCM it will put the transmission into limp mode and won't shift out of second gear. Try driving on the highway like that...it doesn't work too well.

You tell them you have an 03 when you get a pcm and they flash it for your year.

    lol... what did I say?

If I ODERED a NEW PCM (for my car wether it be 98-02 or an 03) it wouldn't matter if I got the 03 or 98-02. Of course I will tell them it's an 03 you know...

Lol I should've been more clear sorry :P
