Glad I found this thread...was just gonna start a new one to see if my MPGs are normal. Sounds like they are.
80% highway driving - 25 MPG.
I was hoping it'd be a little better. Our 01 Regal GS used to pull 30-32 MPG out of highway driving. The Bonnevilles we owned were always better too. Why do the L67s in the GPs net lower MPGs than in the Regals, PAUs, Bonnevilles, etc.?
gearing?
15.7. i'm proud of that. i drive very heavy footed. lots of mods. breaks loose roll 35-40 mph
bone stock 00 GT with roughly 72K (116,000 kms, Canadian eh) and 235 50 17 rubber
I've never worked out my city but 28-30 hwy all day long.
I get about 20-22 locally. Don't really get on the expressway much.
My stock 04 gets about 19 in town and 27 on the highway, but my GTI get's 26/35 and 19 when the cruise control is set at 130 mph, hehe. Not bad for both my cars.
hmm.... 20MPG highway......something must not be right :( I drive 100 mile round trip (mostly interstate) to work each day, and am filling up 15 gallons at about 300 miles... sucks. FWI dropped it down from 22, but from what I'm see here, that still sucks compared to the rest of you. Only 64,000 mile on it too.
I read a couple threads on replacing the front o2 sensor, and that should help, I just wish there was a way to check it before throwing parts at it.....
Thanks in advance for the help!

98 gtp about 18/19 city 26/27 on the highway
My average MPG gauge reads 15.4mpg. When I bought the car is was at 22mpg, then a rod bearing and **** went out. God the rod, rod bearings, gaskets and seal replaced..and my MPG dropped to 18mpg. When a welding busted from my U-Bend to my resonator, it dropped to 14-15mpg.. fixed that problem, and it's still running around average 15.4mpg.. almost seems like when the rod bearings were damaged, rod and piston bent..it was getting better gas mileage...
Things I've done after that expensive engine maintenance, new Fuel Filter and Performance Quaker State Full Synthetic motor oil, fixed exhaust leak...
Hell I was getting better mileage on 91+ Octane..lol
