Gents and Gals:
My 07 GT has been in the family now for about 5 months. Never have owned an S/C engined car before, I am still searching for the best way to pull away from a standstill without one wheel going up in smoke.
Mind you I drive my vehicles with kid gloves most of the time, but as we all know sometimes the need arises to move out. The 95 SHO I had 2 cars ago was good to go as long as you had a bit of a rolling start.
My 01 Dodge Durango was AWD, and weighed 5000 pounds. With its meager 230hp and AWD, wheelspin was not an issue.
Now we come to the GP and its supercharged 3.8. I was rolling away from a light the other day, and was up to 20 or so before I hammered it. Immediately, I lost left wheel traction, then it caught and the right one broke loose. I decided to keep my foot into it to see if it would settle down and hook up.
It finally did, but not with out noise and fan fair which I would have liked to avoid. Possibly the fact that I'm still running the OEM Michelin MXV4 Energy tires that seem to be long on wear and short on grip.
Thanks in advance for any input. Don
