Well when I got my car I was always able to pull the key out of the ignition while it was running without turning the car off or affecting it at all. Sometimes when I try and turn the car off it gets stuck on the ACC (before start) and I would have to pull the key out. Anyone can get in and start it without the key because all they need to do is start it. Oh yea since it was stuck on the acc, the alarm won't engage. I was fine with all this because I would be able to actually fully turn it off with some time, but just recently I am not able to turn the car off. It is now always stuck in ACC which is bad and I can't find a solution. Any ideas/tricks you guys now? Thanks!

Did you check your battery connections?

try spraying some type of alcohol based cleaner(contact cleaner) down into your shifter area. Be liberal with the fluids-you may have something gummed up in there so that the sensor which tells the ignition that you have it in park is not working correctly. Make sure that the power is off when you run it back and forth ten or more times and make sure that the area is dry-should evaporate fairly fast if it is alcohol. Start your car back up and see if this helps anythings. This has worked before for someone I know.........but an uncommon fix.

Battery connections are fine, I'm sure of it. I might try the alcohol based cleaner. I'm not in a hurry because since my key has a chip in it the car will just start up and shut off in a second because the chip is not in the car. I forgot what year they put the chips in the keys but I lucked out lol
