It looks like a fuse holder, except it has room to hold two fuses and then it will have a short piece of wire attached with a butt connector. Most will know it by the name of Add-A-Circuit though I think it is actually called something else on the box. Its usually in the area where the fuses and stuff is in the parts store. I know Advanced Auto has them as that is where I got mine.

Remember it has two fuse slots in it and then is kinda in the shape of a fuse. You pull out the existing fuse in the fuse block (I think its 10A max) put it in the Add A Circuit device and then plug the Add A circuit into the slot you pulled the fuse from. Then the next fuse slot in the Add A Circuit device will be the one connected to the short piece of wire and that is what you connect your gauge or whatever it is you want to power.

In my opinion it is a far better and safer method to power any accessories. I HATE, WITH A PASSION, having to splice into factory wiring. I would rather do like toasty does and come up with some type of plug and play solution and the Add A Circuit certainly fits that.

And for UR LOSN, yes, yes I do want a cookie.

    Parts Express:Littelfuse Add-A-Circuit Fuseholder for ATO/ATC Fuses

add-a-circuit for James. Have you looked for the circuit drop that is behind the glove box? ZZP has an adapter the connects to it. It has direct 12V, Accessory power and a ground.

Oh and James I have one of those circuit drop adapters, brand new on the shelf.

    Thats the one, thanks Lee.

If I were motivated and enterprising enough, I would run that 12v accessory drop over to the fuse panel and create about three drops from it to power extra stuff. In fact, now that I think about it, depending on what kind of current it can handle it may make a good place to tap into for my inverter to power my laptop.

If it could handle 15A comfortably I think that would be plenty to power that inverter.

are there that many extra spots available in the factory fuse block? i know there are small 3 or 4 position add-on fuse breakout boxes available, could be mounted just about anywhere.

As I recall there is. The better choice might be to do a small fuse breakout, I dunno for sure, I didnt look at it that closely for that purpose when I was under there.

trick would be getting the proper fuse recepticles to fit the factory fuse block... ive not run accross those anywhere.

Ok I found that ZZP Harness you were speaking of.....

    ZZ Performance

Now where does this plug in exactly behind the fuse box? And what are the exact benefits of this again? The site really didnt go into great detail to what it does. Or how I would hook it up my gauges etc.

the parts to make your own harness:

    http://www.grandprixforums.net/22494-post3.html

there should be a LARGE wire harness directly behind the glove box. the connector is wrapped up here. you'll have to run the power and ground over to the gauges. you'll still need dash lights wire run to the gauges....

Just messing with you, and of course James.

if he bought mine, I'd have to help him install it, so his car would start afterwards.

I have to veto that idea. Though the pulled pork does sound good, I just never got into the whole Brisket thing. It just doesnt sound right

I guess I am gonna hafta make a trip upto Chicago land we are gonna hafta get some ribs, well for me at least, and you can get your pulled pork. Its been a while since I have been up there, last time was in Oct 2003 for an Everquest Fan Faire thing down at the Shareton on the pier. It was awesome walking the down Michigan Ave.

    Here is proof

The two pictures are really cool that I took. Of course the Chicagoians were a little pissed I stood in the middle of Michigan Ave taking them

And what trip would not be complete without this picture of Chicago

If Toasty is buying, to make up for loosing me a sale, then road trip it is James.
I've only been to Chicago once. Stayed at the Windham on the Magnificent Mile. What a great time.
