Hey guys, got a couple questions and favors to ask ya. When driving at night time, are the HVAC controls and radio buttons supposed to be lit up? and how about the shifter console, like the little letters to the left of the shifter? If so to all of these any ideas on what it could be? everything went out all at once. I have my gauge lights and the little display on the radio but no buttons.. and no button lights on all the doors for the switches

Another thing, my reverse lights are out. I checked the bulbs and those are good, replaced them and still out. It has license plate lights. not sure what could this be either..

and finally, when i go to start my car (no matter if its hot or cold) it starts up then dies out in about 2 seconds. But if i start it up and lightly press the gas its fine. What could be the causes of this? fuel or air???? thanks for all your help guys, isnt the first grand prix, actually the 3rd!

    had a 02 gtp black
    01 SE for highway driving
now 05 gt bermuda blue.. thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure about the lights and HVAC...I know nothing about wiring...but the reverse lights do kinda sound like a fuse. As for the dying part...how many miles are on the car? I've heard cleaning the throttle body on those cars make that issue go away IIRC...

78,000 miles on her. K&N filter on it right now.

DO you think the dash lights could be because of a fuse too? i didnt have time to check and saturday is my only open day to work on her to get all this crap figured out. i appreciate the fast response..

PS> My avatar was my old gtp i painted those flames on the rearbumper..

you could have excess oil on the MAF from the oil on the K and N filter.......yes fuses could be your entire lighting issue I would think........anyone do any work on your car around the time that it stopped working?

I figured it was from that damn k&N. With the interior lights, well its a salvaged car with "water damage", so when i bought it, i never could even see the lights, so i figured it was from the sun and such. sooooo water damage? possibility.. anything withthe reverse lights> could it be a reverse switch? anyone know where those are located at?? thanks alot guys!

for your car I would recommend a fenderwall intake.......either make your own, or if you dont want to make your own, buy one form TDC racing, I think he has them available for your year car......see his threads or visit his website.

check out the HV3 here....ZZ Performance
...I don't know if I believe the 30HP gain but it is much better on the top end. You wont gain anything at low RPM's though and only a little until the higher R's...................

the HV3 is probably one of the best N/A mods out there. a GT with a rocker setup and HV3 will haul compared to stock.
