hello. im having a problem with my car and i dont know if i should take it to the dealership or not. ive never taken a car to one, and am wondering if me not having a catalytic converter was gonna raise an issue? can anyone make any guesses on this??

the problem with my car, it chirps when i hit bumps, or when i go down a fairly bumpy street, its chirps/squeaks constantly. it also makes kinda a crunching sound when i back out of my apartment parking stall sometimes. within the past couple months i have replaced both CV shafts, both front struts (with quick struts so everything there is new), both front wheel bearings, and ive had an alignment. after me and the shop that did the alignment couldnt find it, im wanting to go to the dealership....
the only thing i did myself was the struts, and the shop looked at those and said they're fine, i didnt do anything wrong..... and both the cv shafts and bearings were done by a very well respected shop that works on GM vehicles only, so im confident they are installed properly

I would take it to the shop that did the cv shafts and have them look at it before a stealership

ive thought about that already. i could but it has just been really hard to get in there lately, since my cars completely drivable they may make me wait a week or 2 (kinda like how emergency rooms do their prioritizing)
im not worried about the price, im just worried about not having a cat.....

try greasing all the grease ports on the front and rear end... i had a creaking/sqeaking problem.. that solved the prob. if the car isnt under warranty i dont see where it would matter at the dealership if u dont have a cat.

Maybe I'll have to try that, my car is making these same noises. I was told strut mounts by quite a few people too maybe I'll try those.

I know my GM dealership would not have a problem with not having a cat on there for this issue as long as it isn't under warranty anymore. It should have nothing to do with your issue and should not even be discussed in my opinion......I have no idea how dealers act in your area, however. I would just grease/lubricate any moving part in the front suspension and see what happens.....

its most likely a strut mount like on my car. i have the same thing happening with mine and thats what i think it is. i havent really looked into it much yet.

also, these cars do not have any grease points unless you upgrade to parts that have them.
