I think I'm gonna go for it, despite the fact that it may be not worth it/really tough. I'm just really curious, and think it could be a fun project. I'm heading to the junkyard, and wondering what all I need to buy to complete it. Studying the wiring diagrams, I believe I need:

    -Sun Sensor
    -Interior/Exterior Temp Sensors
    -Control Display (obviously)
-Control module/black box it connects to
    -Blower motor control module
    -Vacuum distributor/solenoid thing
-electric temp actuators, driver and passenger side
-as much wiring and vacuum lines as I can grab

What else is different between the two systems? Are the vacuum-controlled vent actuators different? I've heard the blower motor is different, but it appears to be the same according to the wiring diagram. Someone had mentioned something about a different evaporator core as well.

I understand this project is probably not worthwhile, but I'm like to give it a shot anyway. I figure if we all compile what we know then it won't be a total shot in the dark. Thanks a lot.

If yours is the same as the '99, then I'm interested in this too. I have a 2001 model that is soon to be scrapped and the climate control is something I have my eye on because I don't like the one in ours. It sounds as if it's pretty involved. I was hoping for a plug and play, but didn't think it was likely.

I just finished this myself but it is in an 04 model which is completely different, have yet to gather and post a writeup,
for mine i needed the temperature control valve/flap(the double one not single) the climate control, wiring, 4 temp sensors, cabin temp sensor, extra temp actuator, and the sunload sensor.
    Everything else remained the same.

it is a nice project and if you know aout electrical and things like that it shouldnt be too hard. I can browse through alldata and see what i can find for you
