This should be in gen tech. But there is an access hole in the trunk right behind the rear seat.

Unhook the battery due to explosive vapors.
Pull the trunk liner out of the car and you'll see a 6" x 9" cover on the floor of the trunk behind the pass-thru door. Pop the cover and you'll see three lines heading towards the driver's side and two electrical connectors on the passenger side. Vacuum this area well before going further. You don't want "crap" falling in the tank when you pull the pump. The pump is held in position with a retaining ring that needs to rotate maybe 20 degrees counterclockwise. Do this with a hammer & screwdriver. When the retainer is fully unseated the pump assembly will spring up out of the tank.
When re-assembling put a light layer of petroleum jelly on the rubber gasket before putting the tank in. Some have had problems with leaks in this area and have had to pull and re-seat the pump after they were finished.
The fuel pump cover in the trunk is another reason I love these cars; ease of service.
