When my engine is dead cold and I start it, I get a loud hissing sound from the left headlight area of the engine bay. After 15 seconds, the sound fades, and its gone until the next time the engine is stone cold. No codes. Any ideas?

Mine sort of constantly sounds like that. It comes from the drivers side. Just a slight hiss.

Got a aftermarket intake? That's the reason. They all do that.

It's the IAC that is the sound behine what you are hearing. They all do it to a certian extent but some do seem to be louder.

You will. An intake just makes it louder. Although on our car I can't hear it at all.

Is the IAC going bad when they get louder than normal? Or is that just the air rushing past it? I am having some random hard starts in the morning too, I was planning on changing the IAC anyways...

    Stock airbox BTW.

Hopefully he was joking...a N* on a stock GT will turn it into a epic turd.

no, not saying it was a joke, but if you upgrade to a northstar with the different IAC then it doesnt hiss anymore.
