i have a 97 gtp, the door date says 6/97, is this still a 97, everyone talks about the 97 having a diffirent style pcm, mine has the similar connectors like i have seen on newer 3.8 cars, so any input would be appreciated.

What does your title and/or registration say? That's probably as accurate as you're gonna get. It can swing either way. My MR2 was made 2/90 and it's a 91. My old duramax was made 6/06 and it was an 06.

like he said check the title. sometimes the year the car is made is not the actual model the car is. what your seeing in the door is just the date the assembly line put it together.

The PCM will have a sensor screwed in the front...its a '97.

yea, ive seen some odd ones to, my mom had a 91 Taurus when i was young with a full digital dash. She took it to a dealer for service and they told her that her car didn't exist. They never put a digital dash in a Ford Taurus....but they did in the Mercury Sable that year and they said Ford does this alot. At the end of a model year if they run low on parts for one model they will build a few from parts from another and make them work, in order to not have excess parts laying around. So for what its worth we had a one of a kind taurus, to bad there not worth **** lol
F clean cars, I Ride Dirty!.....to hide the wicked body damage...
97 GP GTP- Mystic Teal, 218k, fixing the damage
91 Cherokee- 4 in. Lift, 31 Kumho M/T, tons of fun
03 Chevy S10- full bag setup on order, will drag frame in under a month
