today my car started making a whirring/whining noise today from the supercharger area. at first i thought it was a bad belt or something but then it started to get louder and now on top on the whining/whirring noise it almost sounds like something is grinding together. I checked the supercharger oil and the motor oil levels and they were fine. Could it be a bad pulley or something like that?

Take the blower belt off. If it persists then it isn't in the supercharger drive pulleys/tensioners.

If you disconnect the Supercharger belt and the noise goes away, then the problem is within the Supercharger. If it sounds like a lot of marbles rolling around inside the Supercharger, then the Supercharger has a problem. You can either purchase a new supercharger, OR; there is a repair kit available on E-bay and elsewhere that replaces the joints inside that are worn out and broken. Last time I checked it sold for about $150-160.

    That is the simplest explanation.

    Good Luck!

Buy a new supercharger? No way. If it sounds like marbles then or rocks then it is the coupler...couplers run about $20-$30 and then get new oil which is about $10-$20...so MAYBE $50...no where NEAR $150-$160.
