I'd do exhaust mods, then get a Stage 2 Intercooler and 42.5# Injectors...drop to probably a 2.8" pulley...with a good tune of course.

stage 2? why not a stage 3?
I always wondered why GM didn't put an intercooler on these cars from the factory....I have a feeling putting one on is a pita and probably takes a fair amount of fabrication at the least...

No, I was just stating with that small of a pulley you'd be better off with headers since the blower is pushing out so much air; spinning that fast.
Got ya....well i think im just gonna do the tune, and 3.4 pulley for now, maybe port the blower and add rockers and see how it runs and decide from there if i want more. Whats the tranny good for in these cars, why do i get the feeling if i were to do an intercooler and a small pulley like a 2.8 id probably be looking for a tranny rebuild lol
You would be...MOST of the time...some cars have taken it, others haven't...mine finally shelled after a 13.4 and constant 1.9 60's on 275 BFG T/A's. Triple Edge Performance is the only way to go. Get a tranny with 3.29 gears too...
This should help you decide YouTube - Modded GTP 20 Roll That is stock shift points too...like 5700.
I had a tranny still kicking after a 1.8 60' and slicks and NUMEROUS trips down the 1/4...and I drive the living crap out of mine...it started to slip after 45K of very hard driving and A LOT of mods...got a Triple Edge Performance tranny and love it
im thinking about just throwing a used low miliage tranny in mine. 400$ compared to 2k for the triple edge. i think if i take good care of it, it should last. i would love the triple edge but dang the money.
Just wanted to update, did all the supporting mods for the 3.4 and my stock pcm actually took a dump. I had to get a pcm fast so I got from ZZP and the tune is great. Night and day difference from stock. Thinking of doing the pulley now. Whats with all the bad rap about ZZP's pcm's??? Had this one in my car for almost a yr now no issues...
Because after 5 of them...or however many...it ended up destroying my factory motor...and I was only running a 3.5"...with PEM's and a 3" DP/Exhaust...supporting mods meant nothing to it obviously. Plenty of people have had issues with ZZP and Intense canned tunes.
It's not uncommon.
I ordered a ZZP PCM 2 weeks ago and it arrived this past Wedensday. Went to put it in on Thursday and imagine that they sent me a bad one. Just UPS'd it back on Friday and calling them tomorrow to see if they can ship the new one out. I was planning on making the first track outing(with the new setup) this Friday, but it looks like my plans will probably not happen unless they ship it out tomorrow. First bad experience I have had with them after spending over $2000 in the past 4-5 years.
