    Hey everyone,
I just joined this forum to ask this question. Its a what its worth question with a bit of a story.

I'll try to summarize the what its worth part:
1996 Grand Prix SE, Black with gray cloth interior. 25,xxx miles, never spent a night outside of a garage in its life. One elderly female owner who has every maintenance document and even the window sticker. Everything is like new. It was driven to the hair dresser and back weekly for the past ten years or so, otherwise it sat in a garage. Looks just like this one:

    The story:
My grandma cannot drive and doesn't need her pride and joy anymore. She is thinking about giving it to my 16 year old cousin for his first car. He is not into cars and will destroy this thing. I am urging her to sell it to someone who would appreciate it and give my cousin some cash to buy a Honda or something he can abuse. She doesn't want to bother selling it unless its actually kind of valuable.

What do you guys think? Will the insurance and gas kill this jobless ingrate? Will there be grand prix enthusiests pulling out their hair knowing the fate of this car (fender benders, oxidized paint, McDonalds under the seet)? I'm too into cars to sit by and let this car die.

    Thanks for any responses,
    Matt

Thanks for the back up guys. Does anyone have an idea of what it would be worth? KBB said its worth like $2500. At that price, it is the junker that my family thinks it is. Has anyone seen a car like this for sale or sell before?

    Thanks again,
    Matt

i have a 96 and looking for one in better condition. I have a 17 year old and I know I dont like him to drive mine. They dont have the kind of respect for things of age as we do. LOL

Buy him something beefy. My boy just totaled my intrepid and had he been in a grand prix he would not have walked away unharmed as he did with a bigger bodied car.

    Good Luck

I am in MN, I would buy it if you could talk her into it and the price is right. PM me if you want and I will give the car a real good home.
