Hey guys and gals. I need to find something as quickly as I can (read: by the end of this week if possible). I need some multi-conductor cable and Im going to need 20 - 25 feet of it.

    Ideally I need 8 conductor, 18 or 20 awg cable and then 2 conductor, 18 - 20 awg.

The 8 conductor cable I would really love to find with conductors of the following colors:

    Red x2
    Black x2
    Gray
    White
    Yellow
    Green

Its not absolutely mandatory that the colors are like that but it would be nice. The 2 conductor cable I dont care what color they are as long as its not red or black.

If anyone has any of this or knows where I can get some without paying an arm and a leg, I would appreciate you posting up.

I'll pay for the cable and shipping if you have it lying around, but I need about 20 - 25 feet of it.

would something like this work, I know at best buy we have pre-packaged rolls of 20 foot, so you don't have to buy 250 foot of it.
    The Install Bay

Best buy also has a 2 conductor pre packaged roll of 8 awg primary wire, the only thing bad is it is one color red; but it does have a square jacket and round jacket to tell them apart.

theinstallbay.com and local best buys are def. ftw.

Yeah, that would probably do the trick. How much does a pre-packaged roll of that stuff run?

Toasty, I havent checked Mouser yet. I thing the one item from there that showed up in a google search was a full 250' roll and thats just a tad more than I need.

Oddly enough, I have wanted to attempt this. I am not happy at all with how the wiring is done under the hood and if I knew I could get each and everyone of the connectors I would probably take a stab at it one at a time.

But, that said, my focus now is on another project I need to complete and for which I need the cable I am seeking.

Rifle through Belden's web site and pick the wire cable you want. Then at least you have a part number to work with while finding a vendor.

or, if you've ever ordered ANYTHING from mouser, you get their 500 lbs manual in the mail... so you can have some good reading

LOL. I went to Beldens site and its going to take some time to find something there. Im thinking it might be easier for me to just drive 60 miles to the south and visit an electronics outlet and see what they have.

    2 -wire = Belden 8205 or 9740
    8 -wire = Belden 8418 or 9157

    http://www.belden.com/pdfs/Cable101/...e%20Finder.pdf

I work with a handful of different multi-conductor cables here, most of which are 24AWG shielded for industrial signaling.

I believe it is about 30 dollars retail. and the 2 conductor is like 6 dollars.

yes sir it sure is, the big multi conductor wire is mandatory on all 4 channel amp installs at any best buy, so they better have it.
and the 2 wire might not be there depending on how big the best buy is. But chances are that will be there also.

Okay, after looking over the link that BiB posted, I think Im going to do this.

Get one cable with two conductors, red & black, 8205
Get one cable with two conductors, two of the same color something not red & black
Get one cable with six conductors, 9750.

I thought I would just get one big cable, but truthfully the power is going to go somewhere different than the six conductor cable and the other two conductor cable is a voltage output. So I think Id be better off with three separate cables.

Now if I can just find a place that has those part numbers.

    heh sorry man

have you thought about checking out your local home improvement store's elecrical section? i seem to recall seeing some multi conductor stranded wire at one awhile back... but perhaps in a larger size than 20 or 18 gauge.
