Re: GM Delphi-Packard Connector Part Numbers
There are few critical connectors I am missing thus far. I know where to find them, but Mouser and wiring information I do not have.
Fuel Injector Connectors
Fuse Box Connectors
Knock Sensor Connectors
PCM Connectors (Blue and Clear. I KNOW these are available, so if anyone can point me to a source I'll get this updated).
Maybe a couple others. I'll try and update this information as I find more stuff. Im mainly after under-the-hood stuff associated with the main harness (I think there is like three harnesses). So if you come across anything that is useful, particularly inexpensive parts sources for anything Im missing, PM me with the information and I'll update.
Hope this helps someone out. It looks to be relatively inexpensive to get the connectors. Maybe $50 - 60 for all of them in the main harness? Somewhere in there. Ive found sources for the appropriate TXL wiring too. Thats obviously going to cost a bit more but its worth it to go in there and wire in the harness the way I want it.
Re: GM Delphi-Packard Connector Part Numbers
Here are the wire colors you'll encounter based on the diagrams so far:
SOLID COLOR / STRIPE
YELLOW
BLACK/WHITE
PINK
BLACK
DARK BLUE
GRAY
BROWN/WHITE
WHITE/BLACK
LIGHT BLUE/WHITE
LIGHT GREEN/BLACK
LIGHT GREEN/WHITE
LIGHT BLUE/BLACK
ORANGE/BLACK
LIGHT GREEN
TAN
PURPLE
TAN/WHITE
PURPLE/WHITE
RED
BROWN
GRAY/BLACK
DARK GREEN/WHITE
DARK GREEN
WHITE
YELLOW/BLACK
RED/BLACK
DARK BLUE/WHITE
LIGHT BLUE
ORANGE
Quite frankly, if you were careful in what you did and was meticulous in labeling everything, you could minimize those colors down to just a handfull
Red - 12v
Pink - Ignition 12v
Black - Grounds
Then just pick out a few other colors for anything that carries a signal, such as the MAF signal. I can almost guarantee you that you will have to resort to such a tactic if you want to do this work. Striped color TXL wire has proven very difficult to find.
However there are a ton of pink wires in the harness, tons of black and red. And Ive toyed with just pulling the grounds out of the harness and connecting them at the point of the sensor. For instance, the MAF has a ground wire. I dont believe it has to run through the harness, so why not connect it right there at the sensor location or in close proximity.
I think there are a lot of little ways to cut down on the number of wires in the harness. For instance you could run a common ground point to a couple different places in the engine bay and do the same for any +12v supply voltage.
Anyway, that is where Im at. Once I have the connectors I'll begin cutting mine in order to de-tangle the harness and find out what would be the best way to route everything.
Re: GM Delphi-Packard Connector Part Numbers
Synth, if you want I can get you the Delphi part number and wiring information for those connectors from the GM SI manual. A lot like what you have above, but no Mouser info.
Re: GM Delphi-Packard Connector Part Numbers
If you could please that would be much appreciated. Particularly the Knock sensor and fuel injector connector since I could not even find those in All Data. I think All Data had part numbers for the fuse block connectors, I just couldnt find a source for them anywhere to purchase. Same with the PCM connectors.
But please, anything you can send my way would be much appreciated.
Re: GM Delphi-Packard Connector Part Numbers
I don't have a way to host PDFs, and this is a lot of info I can't easily extract to JPEGs. PM me your e-mail and I can bundle it all up for you and maybe you know a better way to format it for on here. The fuse box info alone is a lot.
I never did find the actual fuel injector connector end views for you, but I did find the wiring schematics that give you all the wire colors and how they are wired.
Edit: Never mind. I found the injector connectors too. Not sure why, but GM decided not to include the knock sensors and injectors connectors in the Grand Prix's section for 2001, but the 2001 Impala has them.
Re: GM Delphi-Packard Connector Part Numbers
PM sent, and those schematics will be priceless cause I ran across a few examples in the LS1 community where they completely re-done the wiring in the engine bay. Meaning all new connectors, and it was custom routed and all. I think that is the option Im going with. Im going to work on making a crude template of the engine bay this week or weekend and see if I can start laying things out.
Re: GM Delphi-Packard Connector Part Numbers
Replied, and e-mail sent. Let me know if there's anything else that'll help you out. :th_winking:
Re: GM Delphi-Packard Connector Part Numbers
Any idea where I can buy the 24 Pin Connector for the digital DIC. Ive been meaning to swap it into my car for ages now, just never knew where to buy the connector.
Re: GM Delphi-Packard Connector Part Numbers
I think Toasty has that info on here some where when he did a write up on swapping a 3-button DIC for a 5-button. Check the how to section.
Re: GM Delphi-Packard Connector Part Numbers
this is way late, and hopefully Scotty has the stuff all put together already, but
ballenger motorsports seems to have the IAC connector, http://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/pro...roducts_id/835

Anybody have the AC pressure switch conn part numbers?
