Can anyone tell me what I need to do with this? I pulled the MAF and cleaned it and then cleared the code... check engine light came back on after second time starting the car with the same code.

    Thanks in advance

Is your car running rough? If so you're going to need a new MAF Sensor.

Make sure if you buy a used one you get one that fits your car. I believe the 97-98 and different and won't fit the 99-03.

Until you get the new sensor you can just unplug the bad one. Your car will just use the MAP sensor which puts it in low octane mode which isn't a big deal. Just stay away from WOT until you get a new MAF sensor and you let your car relearn all it's fuel trims.

Car seems to be running fine, idles fine, cruises normal... i'm trying to find someone with the same sensor in their 3800 and swap it quick and see if that fixes it.

well... plug in your MAF... go close to WOT past 80mph and see if your car jumps as if it was a big misfire... if it does that then yea, pull over and unplug it...

i know on the 3800 firebirds and camaros they get the MAF codes because 11500hz isn't enough for their cars for some reason... they push it up to 16000hz and have no problems.
