Hi there; just found your sweet forum using google.

I have been having a hard time tracking down any cold air intake kit for my girlfriends 08 grand prix; i was talking to bud at a local performance shop and he cant find any K + N cold air kits for the 08 grand prix; he did find a 05 kit. I dont know alot about aftermarket stuff for the grand prix's but if there isnt an 08 cold air intake kit would the 05 cold air intake work? Seeing as how the 05 and 08 have the same engine and body.

make one out of PVC. the '05 intake will work, but will cost more than making your own..by at least $100.

^^ it will be slower that way.

i had an 06 na and i did that as my first mod. filter right off of the maf with the stock tubing. the filter would move and bounce all around due to the flemsy stock tubing and my filter got melted by the crossover. i also felt as if the car was bogish. i finally got some piping on it and got the filter cramed into the fender. BIG difference. n/a's need all the help they can get.

i agree tho, make your own intake with some tubing. it will be WAY cheaper than that overpriced k&n.

cant skip the maf. either way tho, even on my gtp, on a somewhat stock car open filter in the engine bay kinda sucks. it did have some okay topend but it was just so bogish. and when a hot day came around, i couldent even hit full boost.

i agree a short ram intake has it benifits, but you have to be at a certin mod level for that to take effact.

Ok cool; so the 05 K+N kit will work with the 08 grand prix then correct?

I know the k and n cold air intakes are overpriced but im not 100% confindent on pcv tubing up here in canada during the winter; idk ive used pcv tubing before and it does get brital in the extreme cold. I would go with alluminum tho i made a kit for my 91 GTA and works great.

use whatever meterals you want to use. i just wouldent buy the k&n kit, you dont have to spend that much money to have an intake.

also for the money there is better intakes. check out zzperformance.com

With all that money you save with the universal health care up there, just get a wizair. You will be happier to see that under the hood. The performance numbers are more or less the same. On WOT runs my IAT's are right at ambient temps. It just depends on if you want to support one of the only vendors for our **** or go the Walmart route.
