the sensor that plugs into the intake tube. 1. what is it for? and 2. i just bought a cheapy short intake tube plus filter. so what do i do with the sensor if i can't find a plug in for it? just curious.

it is the IAT (intake air temperature sensor). it senses the intake air temperature and adjusts fueling and timing depending upon the conditions.

you'll want to put that back in there... I had mine hanging free for awhile and it ultimately was connected to more than 1 emissions codes as the MAF and TPS seemed to read in conjunction with it. You will NOT pass emissions with it off.
