What are the differences between the obvious appearance and 20 more hp for the 04 and 05 models? The reason I am asking is because I can not decide which year to get.

the only reason it has 20 more hp is because of the genV supercharger. you can find a cheap 97-03 style and swap the blower on it with a few other goodies and make more power for cheaper in a better looking car.

the interior on the new ones is a lot better though..

Imo 97-03 gp's are the best looking generation. There is alot more available for them too. I prefer the look of my interior compared to the newer gen gp's. Only thing i like off the newer gen gp's are the comp g seats and wheels. I will have to do the upgrade later on.

i dont like the newer ones as much, the styling on the outside. if you can find a 97-03 get that, the only thing might be that the interior is getting rough if it wasnt takin care of, with age. Other then that, you can make these gps way better looking with a simple spoiler and rims.

Yea I like the older GTP's much better. I want to get a coupe, but a 4 door is fine too. Rims are the first thing I am going to, buy then hopefully an intake and an exhaust.

I have an 04 and I love it but if I was to get another I would get a 97-03 mostly because I want a coupe. But from what I have seen the 97-03 are easier to mod and there is more out there for them. I test drove both models before I decided on the 04, it just seemed a little more comfortable ride and the interior was definatly better. Good luck, hope find the right ride for you.

Easiest to mod IMO are the '98-01's as basically everything for them is interchangeable...with the '97's they got crappy transmissions and you gotta relocate the coolant bottle to do an intake on them...only reason I left the '02's out are some of them don't take kindly to o2 spoofs, just like my '03 but the '03's have different transmissions (valve body and sensors are different). AND, '01-'03's didn't have the Performance Shift Option IIRC...or it is '02-'03...not sure...but if you can find a '99 to '01 I would...if I could start over that is what I would do
