I'm new here and I was wondering if you guys would be able to help. I'm not really familiar with grand prix's but I was looking at getting into them. I found a local 98 GTP. The car has 120k miles and the guy told me $3,500. I was going to test drive it in the next few days. However when I go and look at it are there any GTP specific things I shouuld look for before buying it? Is this a pretty fair/average price for these cars? Thanks

I myself recently bought a 99 GTP from a used car lot, 129k miles and one owner for 4 grand. I would say the price is good if the car was well cared for, but many used GTP's could have been abused. I would tell you to pay attention to any unusual suspension noises. After I bought mine i found out i had to replace control arm bushings. Make sure all of the electronics are working properly, windows, Heads up display, cruise, etc. Make sure the transmission is shifting smoothly and not slipping or anything of that nature. These are good used cars if they were well cared for by previous owners. Trust your gut on the car, if you feel any doubt about buying you should pass on this one. There will be plenty more out there in the same price range.
