Hey guys!

I've had my 1999 Grand Prix for about a year now. Recently, the check engine light has come on. I had the error code read recently, and it was:

P0481 - Fan 2 Control Circuit

Now, about a month ago, the fan control mechanism behind the steering column went bad. I pulled the fan control mech out from behind the glove box, and replaced the one behind the steering column with it (since then, that one has gone bad too ). The fan control mech behind the glove box hasn't been plugged in, rather it's been sitting in my glove box. After receiving the P0481 error code, I plugged it back in even though I'm certain it's bad. The check engine light is still on, but I've only driven the car about 10 miles since plugging the fan mech back in, and I figured I may have to drive it a bit for it to turn off. Is it possible that plugging the fan control mech back in will solve the problem? If not, would replacing the two fan control mechs possibly be the solution? What else could possibly be causing the check engine light (and the corresponding error code)? Anything else I should be taking a look at?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
